We have an exciting new opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to work in our busy Purchasing department.  The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Applying principles of Supplier Relation Management to "owned" suppliers.
  • Updating of and reporting on Purchasing KPIs as required.
  • Supporting service level and quality reporting as necessary.
  • Processing (placing, sending, confirming and filing) purchase orders for non-stock items.
  • Expediting orders and deliveries.
  • Dealing with goods to be returned, rejected, reworked etc.
  • Completing Intrastat import statistics and pass information to Finance.
  • General departmental administrative duties.
  • Supporting the  Senior Buyer and Head of Purchasing to implement Category Management.
  • Monitoring and maintaining service contract renewals.
  • Working with internal customers to help them specify and receive products and services meeting their needs and those of the wider business and its customers.
  • Organising the creation, authorisation and sending of import documentation such as CVEDs.

Essential:

  • ‘GCSE’ or equivalent in English & Math's
  • Commercial experience, familiarity with office procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and email.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • To be well organised, with the ability to priortise own workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • To be flexible to the needs of the business.
  • To be friendly and approachable
