Customer Demand & Supply Manager

We are looking for a Customer Demand & Supply Manager who will lead a highly skilled team to ensure that we manage the demand from our global customers so that the supply to them hits our extremely exacting OTIF standards. This role reports directly into our Group Head of Supply Chain and will manage our UK-based Customer Service and Demand Planning teams as well as owning the supply chain relationship with our Global business units.   

 

The Role 

  • Develop and execute the company Customer Demand and Supply strategy to ensure optimal information flows and inventory deployment to business units, which in turn ensures we achieve our global OTIF targets. 
  • Report the company OTIF performance and champion corrective actions based on root cause analysis. 
  • Develop and sustain highly effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business. 
  • Manage the information flows to ensure accurate and timely product availability information is communicated to Global business units. 
  • Coordinate the monthly S&OP process, ensuring relevant demand and supply issues and insights are framed and escalated to the Company Leadership Team for awareness and decision-making. 
  • Responsible for the monthly forecasting cycle, understanding sales trends and demand drivers, developing statistical forecast models, and generating forecast accuracy KPI’s.  
  • Work with Global business units to define the inventory policies for the regional distribution centres to achieve the optimum balance of product availability, shelf life and working capital. 
  • Manage the replenishment planning processes to ensure regional distribution centre inventory policies are maintained. 
  • Manage the UK-based Customer Service team processing orders received from customers in UK, several European markets and many countries around the world. 
  • Understand the constraints of the complex regulatory framework and global shipping requirements that can impact timely fulfilment of customer orders.  

Experience 

  • Previous experience within supply & demand management is essential. 
  • Degree educational background ideally science or engineering.  
  • Desirable Supply chain professional education e.g., CIPS 
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplined teams  
  • Understanding of Sales & Operational planning. 
  • Experience of leading highly successful teams 
  • Strong Analytical Skills. 
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems.

Location: Birmingham & flexibility for 2/3 days WFH per week.
