A new position has arisen to join our expanding team. This role will report into our Group Financial Controller and is a key role linking the Finance team with the wider business as well as supporting a number of business projects.

This role is a combination of Birmingham Head Office based and remote working.

THE ROLE

  • TBS Manufacturing are engaged on a long-term project to improve manufacturing processes, systems and data. There are several areas which the post holder will be involved in:
  • Manufacturing teams are reviewing and improving data held within the current ERP system. The post holder will be assisting the manufacturing teams in this review with analysis of historical data and working to gather and review any ‘off system’ data. 
  • The post holder would work in partnership with manufacturing, planning and the wider finance team on manufacturing process improvements and assessing whether these should be implemented. This would include appropriate testing of any changes to ensure that they increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assistance in the design and implementation of new working methods and processes as part of ERP system upgrades. This would also involve testing these appropriately to ensure they work as intended.
  • Working with the wider Finance, IT and Manufacturing teams to design and implement improvements in reporting and finance month end processes for Directors and Managers.
  • Assist with scenario analysis to find the financial impact on stock valuations and provisions of the changes above.
  • Implement improvements to internal Finance processes for month end stock valuations and provisioning to increase efficiency.
  • In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the regular activities laid out below:
  • Provide cover for the preparation of the monthly stock valuation, cost rolls and other relevant tasks
  • Conduct first stage review of month end stock valuation and provision calculations.
  • Assist in preparation and review of Finance/Manufacturing KPIs
  • Prepare commentary and analysis on manufacturing variances for communication to senior management and to assist the UK Financial Controller to prepare commentary on the month end results.
  • Assist in preparation and review of annual budget for manufacturing
  • Conduct calculations and scenario analysis for quarterly cost roll update.
  • Support year end and interim external audit.

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE 

  • Qualification from a recognized accountancy institute ACA, ACMA, ACCA
  • Experience of working in manufacturing businesses (either as an auditor of stock or as an accountant in a manufacturing business)
  • Experience of preparing reports from complex data and presenting these to a non-financial audience
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Application of diligence to ensure that complex spreadsheet models for Finance and Manufacturing are reconciled to underlying information and are free from calculation errors as part of a review and challenge.
  • Previous experience of leading meetings with senior managers in attendance
  • Experience of working with an ERP system
  • Ability to work well in a team and fit in with existing culture
