ELISA/Immunoassay Development Scientist

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Scientist/Specialist to work in the ELISA division of the Production Support Department.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Experimental and verification testing and documentation completion towards New Product Development projects for ELISA
  • Testing and administrative investigation of non-conformances in ELISA Manufacturing
  • Generating manufacturing documentation (including spreadsheets) for technology transfer to ELISA Manufacturing
  • Participate in testing relating to investigation of customer complaints

In addition you will be required to maintain specialist knowledge relevant to ELISA manufacture and may also carry out ELISA Manufacture if required. The position holder will have the responsibility for the completion of experiments, investigations and projects.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities. 

  • Carry out feasibility/R&D studies – designing experimental protocols.
  • Assess novel raw materials and equipment
  • Completion of investigation and experimental reports in compliance with the company Quality Policy.
  • Generate specifications including Manufacturing QC limits for new/existing assay components.
  • Interpretation of CSLI guidelines and SOPs to design and execute assay Verification testing.
  • Plan and prioritise assigned project work.
  • Assemble, present and discuss data in meetings with Managers.
  • Develop specialist experience and knowledge with respect to immunoassays and so contribute to the specification and design of future products.
  • Carry out design changes to existing products or processes when required and assist in the investigation of complaints if necessary.

Essential: 

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant Scientific Degree
  • Experience with ELISA
  • Strong experience of data manipulation in Excel
  • Excellent IT skills, experience in use of MS Word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • To be well organized & proactive, hardworking and committed
  • Excellent time management skills
  • To be flexible to the needs of the business.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the medical diagnostics industry
  • Experience with use of MiniTab/MedCalc/Prism
  • Experience of NPD/Verification/Validation
