The Purpose

As a Production Planner you will be operationally responsible for the creation, review and maintenance of production requirements and predetermined inventory policy parameters.

In going liaison with relevant production departments to agree, monitor and amend, where required, plans.

Cascade of planning information to demand planner to enable continual improvement and ongoing higher-level review.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for maintaining an achievable production plan across the manufacturing departments
  • Understand the Demand Planning process. Recognize how and why top-level demand is planned. Be able to interpret the subsequent generated supply and demand requirements and be able to analyse and challenge the data accordingly
  • Create, plan and schedule shop order recommendations and exceptions in line with material and capacity constraints
  • Meet with Production Departments to analyse Actual v Demonstrated capacity performance for the previous period and identify what Shop orders are to be released for the next period
  • Investigate and amend Shop Orders
  • Escalate any contentious issues to the Senior Production Planner / Production.
  • Responsible for maintaining an achievable production plan across the manufacturing departments.

 

Experience required: -

  • GCSE English & Maths
    • Previous Planning experience with ERP systems
    • Experience within the Manufacturing industry
    • Experience with measuring adherence/conformance to Plan (CTP)
    • Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word & Power Point

Location: Birmingham

Hours: 40 hrs (2 days remote working on a rota basis)
