Specialist in Protein and Chromatography Transfer

Working within Protein and Chromatography transfer reporting to Senior Specialist. The post holder will be operationally responsible for the investigation of Production Improvement activities, focusing on protein purification, manufacturing procedures and validation processes. The post holder is expected to work closely with the relevant Production and R&D departments to collate, control and monitor data. Main duties will include:

  • Carrying out feasibility studies, designing experiments and protocols.
  • Instigating and complete process and product change projects as deemed appropriate.
  • The implementation of improvement changes into production
  • Developing specialist experience and knowledge with respect to immunoassays and protein purification and so contribute to the specification and design of future products

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Skills:

  • A good relevant Scientific degree in Biological Sciences (Grade 2(i) or above). PhD in Biological Science, Immunology or Biochemistry
  • Experience in protein purification, and techniques used in protein characterization and analysis including electrophoresis, immunoassays, mass spectrometry
  • Good knowledge of Immunology and Immunodiagnostics
