CHEMISTRY SPECIALIST

We are looking for a Chemistry Specialist who is organised and has great attention to detail.

Chemistry Specialist role is responsible for the improvement & optimisation of Buffer manufacturing processes.

 

The Role

  • Experience is required of buffering, pH, reagent and buffer formulation.
  • In depth understanding of good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & H&S (COSHH, MSDS’s is essential
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies
  • Ensuring that all documentation associated with change activities, CAPA, NCR or other work is completed to the current company standards.
  • Knowledge of experimental design
  • Ability to analyse scientific data and write the associated reports

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Science degree in Chemistry (or similar for example Analytical or Applied Chemistry) with at least a 2:1 grade, and 2 years lab/work experience, or a higher research degree.
  • Chemistry A-level
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Analytical or Applied chemistry, Development and use of buffers (biological buffers an advantage)
  • Understanding of the Hofmeister series and pH.
  • Understanding of COSHH and CLP legislation.
  • Experience in writing-controlled documents, including detailed protocols.
  • Ability to think critically about different methods and processes.

Hours: 40 hrs Based on site.
