We have an exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Operations Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial operations strategies for The Binding Site’s global team. This position is responsible for managing the details of the sales process, develops global procedures for the commercial team, and reports on sales and commercial operations. Additionally, this role is expected to recommend ways to strengthen the sales and commercial operations processes with the goal of creating a global high-performing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing, maintaining, and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Sales and Commercial Operations.
  • Developing direction and improvements related to the CRM.
  • Managing possible CRM pilot program and ROI analysis.
  • Performing funnel management, measure activity and compliance, and monitoring forecasting performance.
  • Developing a global TAM for all products.
  • Performs gating analysis for the global commercial team and tracks gap responses.
  • Working to connect field marketing to global marketing by assisting in win/loss information, competitive intelligence, and customer segmentation.
  • Implementing sales strategies, including Blue Sheets & Value Selling materials.   
  • Responsible for overseeing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) module and looks for opportunities for improvement, leads initiatives to implement change, including any pilot programs for certain geographies.
  • Managing customer contracts; including monitoring upcoming contract expirations and working with staff to ensure accurate and timely new contracts and renewals.
  • Standardizing, and improves as applicable, monthly reporting and ensures timely distribution to stakeholders.
  • Drives pricing discipline globally and developing and recommending product and service pricing guidelines.   
  • Collaborating closely with finance team to produce monthly sales reporting and develop new reporting such as a global gap analysis.
  • Responsible for managing the sales forecasting process.   
  • Coordinating and maintaining regular Sales Business Reviews.
  • Working with global teams to enhance customer satisfaction and drive retention by measuring every customer touch point and providing feedback to the organization.
  • In alignment with segmentation, work closely with finance to ensure proper GP thresholds are met.
  • Work closely with Global Marketing on product life cycle management and rationalization as it relates to the global subsidiaries.
  • Develop mediums within the commercial team to share best practices globally.
  • Scheduling and managing regular “backorder management” calls and activities with global teams.
  • Collaborate with other Sales & Commercial Operations management globally on a variety of projects and initiatives to improve Sales, Customer Support and internal processes.   

This position may be based in San Diego, CA or Birmingham, England. The successful candidate will be expected to be at either facility 1 week each month and travel globally 10-15%.

Ideal Candidate

  • 6-8years of relevant experience, including minimum 5 years' work experience in Sales, Operations and CRM in the diagnostic/Life science industry 
  • Ability to lead by influence and drive stakeholder alignment 
  • Strong Sales, Operational & CRM background.
  • Experience of working internationally 
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking  
  • Ability to operate independently, to take initiative, be resourceful and exercise astute business judgement to drive performance
