Purchasing Assistant

We have a fantastic new opportunity to join our Purchasing Team.  The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Appling principles of Supplier Relation Management to "owned" suppliers.
  • Updating of and reporting on Purchasing KPIs as required.
  • Supporting service level and quality reporting as necessary.
  • Processing (placing, sending, confirming and filing) purchase orders for non-stock items.
  • Expediting orders and deliveries.
  • Dealing with goods to be returned, rejected, reworked etc.
  • Completing Intrastat import statistics and pass information to Finance.
  • General departmental administrative duties.
  • Scanning and copying relevant documentation into archive systems.
  • Ensuring entered data is checked and correct, especially pricing and lead times.
  • Routine cleansing of ERP data.

Essential:

  • ‘GCSE’ or equivalent in English & Maths Grade 4 or above.
  • ‘A’ levels in commercially relevant subjects, further qualifications in business or Purchasing (ideally CIPS).
  • Commercial experience, familiarity with office procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Powerpoint)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • To be well organised with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • The ability to negotiate with a wide range of people
  • To be flexible to the needs of the business

Location: Birmingham- Calthorpe Road Edgbaston  

Hours: 40 hrs   (hybrid working 3 days in the office, 2 days at home)
