Continuous Improvement Manager

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead as a Change Agent within the business to enable efficiently and productivity gains through developing best practises. This role has ownership for all Continuous improvement activities and proactively challenges the current thinking and process with a drive to be World Class. We are looking for someone who is highly experienced on executing and developing continuous improvement, six sigma process within an Manufacturing background. 

 

The Role 

  • To assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy 
  • Lead and coordinate a wide variety of identified and approved initiatives and projects designed to improve processes and performance in all areas of the business but with a major focus on manufacturing operations 
  • Ensuring all staff are actively encouraged to identify improvement opportunities and ensure activities are resourced, managed and driven to successful completion 
  • To develop through Continuous Improvement activities efficient layouts for processes and equipment and to actively identify improvements within the manufacturing operations through effective end to end analysis 
  • Identify ongoing lean improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required training 
  • Effectively deliver the training (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, team effectiveness and continuous improvement) as required to ensure colleagues are trained in Continuous Improvement and Lean concepts and philosophy 
  • To work with key business stakeholders, and ‘LEAN champions’, to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change 
  • To lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions 
  • To support any New Product introduction teams as required to ensure that any new products enter manufacturing in a well-planned/optimized manner, to support efficient manufacturing processes. 
  • To ensure all necessary documentation is correctly completed in line with cGMP requirements 
  • Ensure all changes to processes and documentation are fully validated and under Change Control 

 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping and use of associated tools 
  • Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions to support productivity and efficiency gains 
  • Direct management experience along with project management capabilities 
  • Work experience with an emphasis on Manufacturing or process engineering within a similar role.

Location: Birmingham- Edgbaston 

Hours: 40 hrs (1 day remote & 4 days onsite)
