Technical Writer

The technical writer will be part of a multidisciplinary technical team enable our laboratory customers to improve multiple myeloma patient outcomes. You will take a user-centred approach to making information easier to understand for a specialist audience. In short, you will develop technical and instructional content, leveraging the expertise of colleagues, to make our solutions easier to use for the people that want and need to use them.

This position is UK remote based with up to 40% travel requirement within the UK and occasional International travel.

The Role

  • Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources and work with the team to deliver high-quality documentation suitable for customers and colleague audiences
  • Create and update technical documentation including user manuals, service manuals, guidance documents and associated service checklists; making complex language and processes easy to understand for a global audience.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and key stakeholders in a fun and close-knit agile team to progress key projects in required timeframes, proactively seeking input.
  • Lead efforts to standardize our ways of communicating technical information along with relevant processes to support standardization.
  • Foster partnerships with technical colleagues and users and be able to identify who they are and what their needs are.  You can translate user experience and propose new ideas to meet these needs.

 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a scientific discipline or relevant experience
  • Technical writing experience in a scientific environment or experience in the life sciences industry preferred.
  • Experience leading multiple projects or work streams and setting their schedules and priorities
  • Experience with authoring tools preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to write clear, concise scientific/technical communication accurately and quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and high regard for quality.
  • Ability to organize information logically and think critically.
